I'm trying to reboot t-xp32-ix-004 via IPMI, but the interface listed in the inventory is unreachable.

Host needed a reboot. Should be able to remote into IPMI now.

I can get to the IPMI console now.

I've tried rebooting the machine a few times now while watching the console without success. I see the BIOS screen, and then the XP loading screen briefly before everything goes black. I cannot connect via VNC/RDP/ssh.

Summary: t-xp32-ix-004 management interface is unreachable → t-xp32-ix-004 is unreachable
The OS looks fine when I connect an external monitor. Although IPMI remote console gives a black screen, moving the mouse around does give a response on the external monitor. I'm noticing this also happens to other nodes.

In addition, ssh does not work because nic0 is hosed. Tried swapping cables and ports but still no active light. However nic1 works. Will open an RMA case with iX systems.
Doh the host is playing tricks on me. Nic0 works now and I can ssh, but java console still displays a black screen.

ssh t-xp32-ix-004.wintest.releng.scl3.mozilla.com

Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? no
:coop - I am able to ssh and get to the VNC password prompt. Amy mentioned that many of the IX Systems with third party video cards does experience the black screen through IPMI remote console.

Can you try ssh or VNC?

< arr> but, yeah, it's completely expected that any iX test machine will have a blank screen if it's functioning correctly. The output is sent to the other card

06:28 < arr> so xp, w7, w8, linux32 and linux64 testers should all be like that
Vinh: OK, good to know re: the black screen. Thanks for checking.

The machine seems to need the occasional reboot, but does seem to recover afterwards. I'll stay in touch with mconley if he needs further reboots.
