After attempting to flash the phone with the multi-locale builds generated from bhearsum's repo, my phone loads up with a gray screen and no more. There's no adb input either, so essentially the device is bricked. I tried 2 different otoros, now i have 2 bricked devices. Repro: 1) on an Otoro, unpack an existing daily otoro build (i used 11-27 build from daily ftp directory) 2) goto bhearsum's people account, and download the multi-locale package 3) replacing system.img, ramdisk.img and userdata.img into an existing b2g-distro build. 4) run ./flash.sh. Verify screen reboots and your'e stuck on the gray screen with no adb devices detection. Tonys:b2g-distro tchung$ ./flash.sh Rebooting into device bootloader... Flashing system images... < waiting for device > erasing 'cache'... OKAY [ 0.520s] finished. total time: 0.520s erasing 'userdata'... OKAY [ 1.379s] finished. total time: 1.379s sending 'boot' (8652 KB)... OKAY [ 0.746s] writing 'boot'... FAILED (remote: flash write failure) finished. total time: 2.241s

It's worth noting that nobody is sure that this is related to Multilocale. I find it unlikely that it would be, as the only different about those builds is the gaia profile.

Tony: in order to revive from this stage, go to bootloader mode. Here's info for Unagi: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Boot_to_Gecko/Troubleshooting - but it should work the same for otoro.

I can get into fastboot mode fine, but any attempt to flash a file results in "remote write failed".

does this happen for multi-locale builds only or also for older builds (before multi-locale)?

(In reply to Zbigniew Braniecki [:gandalf] from comment #4) > does this happen for multi-locale builds only or also for older builds > (before multi-locale)? i havent tried older build, because bhearsum didnt generate these in his private repository. however, i have tried the otoro builds in the past from the AWS storage, and they flashed fine. (and those are single-locale)

(and those are single-locale) https://pvtbuilds.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/b2g/tinderbox-builds/mozilla-central-otoro/20121203070534/ should be equivalent, without multilocale.
