Details

Notes

  • Unmuting works if you click or press enter/space on the speaker icon.
  • Mute keyboard shortcut (CTRL/CMD + ↓) does work accordingly.

Found in

  • Firefox Nightly 116.0a1

Affected versions

  • Firefox Nightly 116.0a1

Tested platforms

  • Affected platforms: All

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start playing a video on Netflix/Max/PrimeVideo/DisneyPlus and launch Picture-in-Picture.
  2. Mute the video by setting the volume slider to 0% (cursor or ↓arrow).
  3. Use the unmute shortcut to unmute the video (CTRL/CMD + ↑).

Expected result

  • The video is unmuted accordingly.

Actual result

  • Nothing happens, the video is not unmuted.

Regression range

  • Not a regression, volume slider was added in Fx116.

:pmagyari, if you think that's a regression, could you try to find a regression range using for example mozregression?

This issue appears to reproduce for all tested streaming services, except Youtube. The Youtube does unmute the sound to 10% volume using the steps in comment 0. This being considered, I am editing the summary to reflect this information.

Summary: Unmute shortcut does not work on HBO Max/Netflix/PrimeVideo after reducing volume to 0% with slider → Unmute hotkey does not work on most streaming services after reducing volume to 0% with the slider
