  • Have the Tab pickup section from Fx View populated.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Disconnect from the internet or unplug the Lan cable and refresh the FX View page.
  2. Connect to the internet and refresh the FX View page.
  3. Disconnect from the internet or unplug the Lan cable and refresh the FX View page.

Expected result

  • The "Check your internet connection/ If you're using a firewall or proxy, check that Firefox has permission to access the web." error message is displayed with "Try again" blue button;

Actual result

  • The Tab pickup section remains empty, the Empty state or Error message is missing.

This issue is not a regression, The flags for this issue have been marked as affected all the way back to 107, This issue occurs since the feature was implemented.

This looks like the same issue that tgiles investigated in bug 1789872, and I think that's currently blocked on networking bugs (although it's not clear to me from reading those bugs if there's a solution in sight).

Thanks Sarah. I'll send Tim a Slack message on this and get a better understanding of how we can get networking support.

This is definitely a dupe (or variant) of bug 1789872, you can see in Comment #0 where there is a Virtualbox Ethernet adapter enabled. Since there is a network adapter available for the network link service, FxView gets into an odd state since the network link service knows the virtualbox ethernet adapter is available and able to be used as a network link (even though there is no active internet connection available because the real ethernet adapter is disabled).
