Affected versions

  • 108.0a1
  • 107.0b4
  • 106.0.1
  • 102esr

Tested platforms

  • Affected platforms: Win 10 with touchscreen

Steps to reproduce

  1. Lunch Firefox and reach Wikipedia.
  2. Select a hyperlink composed of at least two words (long press).

Expected result

  • The context menu is opened and all the words in the hyperlink are underlined. None of the words in the hyperlink are highlighted and selected.

Actual result

  • The context menu is opened, all the words in the hyperlink are underlined, but the word that was long pressed is highlighted and selected.

Regression range

  • I could reproduce this issue way back to 53.0a1. I think it's safe to assume that this is not a regression.

Additional notes

  • Also, selecting an image has the same behavior as a simple text selection.
  • Screencast attached to observe the issue.
