Hi All,

    I am using w2k-p, sp3 and Mozilla 1.1.0.2002082611
(sorry about my upgrading -- I need the spell checker. :-( )

I am using an ftp site that requires a particular user name and
address -- anonymous is blocked. To access this web site,
I need a pop up prompt that allows me to enter my user name
and password.

Please note that the URL convention of
             ftp://username:password@ftp.foo.com
does not work, as my user name has a slash ("/") in it. Please
see bug http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179558
on this (separate) issue.

Many thanks,

When logging into an FTP site, I need a pop up window to enter a screw ball
user name and password. Not all FTP sites allow for anonymous:bozo@theclown.com
as their log in. And, some FTP administrators have a habit of sticking
screw ball characters in the username, like slashes, that are interpreted
by the URL line interpreter as part of the address and not part of the
user name.

Look like a dupe for Bug # 124561
It is.

Tony: for future reference, you can verify your own bugs.

We've had some discussion about how this should be implemented (when, what the
UI should be, etc.), so you should consider reading the dupe and providing any
missing suggestions.

Hi Benc,

Oh I wish it were so. I get the following error when searching:

You are trying to search Bugzilla from the Mozilla search sidebar, which
recently made Bugzilla its default search engine for some strange reason,
causing us to block all queries from the sidebar so we wouldn't get swamped with
requests intended for Google and the like. If you want us to remove this block,
and you know who's responsible for the list of search engines in the sidebar,
contact Myk Melez at myk@mozilla.org.

Myk is helping me resolve the problem (I am not using the search sidebar).
If this is effecting other people as well, you may start getting a lot of
duplicates from other people as well.

Thank you for looking up mine.

Hi Benc,

What was the number of the original? I found no mention of it.
