Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch FF.
  2. Go to about:config
  3. browser.search.separatePrivateDefault.ui.enabled to true
  4. Restart browser and check the value for browser.search.separatePrivateDefault.ui.enabled.

Expected result

  • browser.search.separatePrivateDefault.ui.enabled is true

Actual result

  • browser.search.separatePrivateDefault.ui.enabled is false
Has STR: --- → yes

Verified value persistence for browser.search.separatePrivateDefault.ui.enabled with 107.0b2, 108.0a1 (2022-10-18) on Ubuntu 22.04, Windows 10 and Mac 11.

It's unlikely that this fix will get into 106, but if it does, please feel free to re-add qe+.
