Notes

  • Improving this would greatly benefit the overall aesthetics of the page and increase the overall UX quality.
  • As a user, I would want a clear indication of the fact that I could also click the title sections in order to perform the collapse/expand actions.

It's not clear to me what indication this would be. We already change the cursor. Ray?

Adding a few more folks to the cc thread. I agree that the cursor change seems like a reasonable indication. Josh, do you have thoughts here?

This is as expected. A couple reasons - this was better than the alternative for accessibility.

The technical implementation here gives screenreader users a better reading than we had before.
The button is far out on the right and users relying on zoom might not see it. Having the pointer change to a hand over the header and allowing that to be actionable provides an interactive space more accessible to users who are zoomed in and a little feedback from the cursor change.
The large tap target is more accessible, especially for multi interaction type devices (touch screen laptops).

In our fast follow we have a story that will move the disclosure arrows to the left of the header as well which will make this all feel a little more coherent as the button and header/subheader will feel more like a single element.
