Nothing is selected in the list (V == DV == "") but in the HTML counterpart the value is set to the first one (hence Austria).
So we must add an empty entry, selected by default, in the combo list.

Are you able to reproduce back to 81?
This issue is reproducible also on Firefox 81.0 on Windows 10 x64, Ubuntu 22.04 and MacOS 12.3.

This should be fixed in latest Nightly, could you verify?

This should be fixed in latest Nightly, could you verify?
Currently the default value is no longer displayed in the Country field when using the latest Nightly 103.0a1 to load the pdf http://foersom.com/net/HowTo/data/OoPdfFormExample.pdf, although it is displayed with an older build from Friday(10-Jun-2022 11:50).
So there are two default values in the pdf form now when using the latest Nightly: Gender and Height.
These two default values were already preserved and displayed when saving or downloading the pdf file on Windows 10 x64 and Ubuntu 22.04, so I've checked this issue fixed on MacOS 12.3.
On MacOS 12.3 the issue persists because the Gender and Height default values are not displayed in the saved pdf file(screenshot attached). Thanks

This is the same behavior as Adobe Acrobat Reader, right?

Pretty unexpected. Calixte, could you check why it isn't fixed on Mac?

About mac: the bug is in Preview
itself, the file is correctly saved but Preview
doesn't render it correctly.
For your information we have a similar issue (with the same pdf) when printing:

Ina, could you confirm the PDF is shown correctly if you open it in Adobe Reader on Mac? And can you check it is not shown correctly in Preview even if you download the file from Safari?

The default values Gender and Height are correctly shown when opening the downloaded pdf file with Adobe Reader on Mac(Screenshot Open in Adobe Reader).
When opening the pdf http://foersom.com/net/HowTo/data/OoPdfFormExample.pdf directly in Safari, there are no default values shown in Gender and Height fields.
When using "Open in Preview" in Safari, no default values are shown(Screenshot Open in Preview from Safari). Same goes when using "Open With Preview(default)" after downloading the pdf file from Nightly 103.0a1(Screenshot Open in Preview).
In conclusion no default values are shown when opening the downloaded pdf file in Preview, but they are shown when using Adobe Reader.

We can then call this fixed, the problem in Preview is a bug in Preview.
