Affected platforms:

M1 mac 11.6

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Firefox using a new profile
  2. Go to Add-ons Manager → Plugins tab
  3. Wait several minutes for plugin installation
  4. Try to play any streaming service (eg. Netflix)

Expected result

The plugin is properly downloaded
The message is no longer displayed
The streaming service works

Actual result:

The plugin is not installed
The yellow warning is still display
No streaming services seams to work

Severity: -- → S2
Has Regression Range: --- → no
Has STR: --- → yes

As a note, we tested this on two separate Mac M1 ARM machines, both with macOS 11.6, and the issue is reproducing only on one of them. On the other one, the plugin was installed correctly on new profiles.

Jim, could we get an assignee on this one? I don't know who works on this area today. Thanks!

Tested again on the latest Firefox versions(Nightly 103.0a1, Fx 102.0b2 and Fx 101.0) and I wasn't able to reproduce this bug anymore.
