This is what I've discovered:
-
If I download the build from the archive, unzip it, launch it and crash it with about:crashparent, the browser will show the Crash Reporter and properly save a crash report.
-
If I install the latest nightly using the commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-daily/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firefox-trunk
...then the bug will reproduce and the system will show a "Nightly is busy" prompt with options to "wait" and "kill";
OR the browser simply crashes without saving a crash report; When opened, the previous session is shown.
OR the whole system freezes! a system restart is required.
Note: I do not test in GTX 1050 video card, but a GT 710 (both NVidia GeForce).
