Affected versions

Preconditions

  • Kaspersky Internet Security installed
  • Firefox set as the default browser

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Firefox MSIX and perform some web surfing.
  2. Open Kaspersky Notification Center and click on the Details for Activating the Kaspersky Protection extension.

Expected result

  • The AMO page is opened in a normal MSIX instance.

Actual result

  • If Firefox MSIX is already opened, a new Firefox instance is displayed with enabled updates inside About Firefox.
  • If Firefox MSIX is closed a Firefox instance is displayed with enabled updates inside About Firefox.

Regression range

  • I will search for one ASAP if there is one.

  • Screen recording here.
  • Not a regression from bug 1733284, this happens with 96.0a1 (20211101215926) as well.
  • On Windows 10x64 nothing happens when clicking details from KAS antivirus (see bug 1731261).

I can no longer see this issue with 120.0a1 (2023-10-22) and 119.0b9 on Windows 11 with Kaspersky. The AMO page is opened in a standard MSIX instance after the message is displayed in Kaspersky.
