Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Go to about:addons -> Themes section.
  3. Enable a Colorway theme.
  4. Click the disable button.

Expected result

  • Firefox reverts back to the default theme without issues.

Actual result

  • There is a white flicker/transition on toolbar and tab bar before switching to the default theme.

Regression range

  • This is not a regression.

Additional notes

  • The flicker is visible on the active tab in nightly and on the entire tab bar in beta, when the change is made.
  • The issue does not occur in Ubuntu 20.04
  • Issue might also be related to 1735110.

This problem is not unique to monochromatic themes. All themes do this, unfortunately.
