Affected versions

  • Firefox 91.0
  • Firefox 92.0b1
  • Firefox 78.13.0
  • Firefox 93.0a1

Affected platforms

  • Ubuntu 20.04 x64
  • Windows 8.1 x64
  • Windows 10 x64
  • macOS 12

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Access this link and download items from Desktop Download Warnings.
  3. When the download was finished open the Library - Download panel from toolbar, Show all downloads (Ctrl+J).
  4. Every downloaded item on right side has an "X" button with Remove File tooltip.
  5. Click on "X" button.

Expected result

  • Remove the file from list, or reflect this through a tooltip, or display a message to reflect the file moved or missing.

Actual result

  • Nothing visible happened, only the "X" button disappears. It works correctly, only here in this list it is not reflected anywhere.

Regression range

  • This is not a regression, I checked this issue on Fx 65.0b12 build and it also reproduces.

Additional notes

  • If you have in Download panel downloaded items and trigger to restart the browser (Ctrl+Shift+j and Ctrl+Alt+r) the Download panel pop up automatically (see: DownloadPanel-after-restart.png)

This looks like more a UI/UX decision regarding whether we should provide more information after users click the "X" button. Move the component to Download Panel .

Component: Safe Browsing → Downloads Panel
Product: Toolkit → Firefox
