Affected versions

  • 89.0a1(2021-03-25);

Affected platforms

  • Windows 10, macOS 10.15;

Steps to reproduce

  1. OS/Browser set to Dark theme;
  2. Access about:preferences#containers
  3. Click on the Add New Container;
  4. Choose the color black for the container;
  5. Input any name and click on the Done button;
  6. Click and hold on the [ + ] Open new tab button;
  7. In the menu locate the newly added container;

Expected result

  • with Dark theme the color should be white;
  • with White theme the color is black(this is ok)

Actual result

  • with dark theme: @step 3 the color is black but at step 7 the color is white;

Regression range

  • not a regression;

Additional notes

  • attached screenshot to best illustrate the issue;
  • the main issue here is the color not being as visible and making it more flexible based on the OS theme;
  • UX-wise, a user might be confused as to why the desired container color is not displayed in the picker / or visible in this case.
