Affected versions

  • 85.0b4, 86.0a1(2020-01-03);

Affected platforms

  • macOS 10.15, macOS 11.0.1;

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox;
  2. Access this link, or any other from a Facebook post notification;

Expected result

  • the (blue) focus-ring fades out after 1-2 second(s);

Actual result

  • the (blue) focus-ring persist in page;

Regression range

  • First bad: 2019-05-08;
  • Last good: 2019-05-07;
  • Pushlog: URL;

Additional notes

  • S4 set since it has no real impact;
  • attached sceenshot to illustrate the persisting issue
Has Regression Range: --- → yes
Has STR: --- → yes

For what it's worth, the blue rings fade out for me on Windows 10 (light theme).

It works fine with/without WebRender on Linux. If it's specific for Mac, it's likely an issue in gfx code. I don't see any suspicious changes in the regression range though.

Is this issue happening with/without WebRender?

Flags: needinfo?(cristian.fogel)

Happens with gfx.webrender.all on both true/false.
Something that I just noticed, as an additional behaviour on macOS 11:

  • opening the link directly, the posts on the "first page" are all highlighted, scrolling down towards the "next page" that wasn't loaded shows posts as expected (meaning that the first 2-3 posts are having the reported issue).

Thank you Cristian. Still weird why this issue happens only on Mac. Setting P3.

Priority: -- → P3
