Affected versions

  • Firefox 85.0a1 (BuildId:20201214091023)

Affected platforms

  • Windows 10 64bit
  • macOS 10.15
  • Ubuntu 20.04 64bit.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Access any random website.
  3. Hit CTRL + P in order to open the print preview.
  4. Change the destination to your actual physical printer.
  5. Increase the number of copies until it reaches the first invalid value.

Expected result

  • The other print preview options get automatically locked if an invalid value is entered inside the copies field.
  • It seems that the print preview options get locked only if another action is performed (adding an additional numeric value inside the copies field or interacting with the print preview options).

Actual result

  • The other print preview options are not automatically locked and the user can perform an additional step (clicking on a different orientation which successfully changes the orientation inside the print preview or adding an additional numeric value inside the copies field) before locking the print preview options.

Notes

  • This goes way back to Fx 82 but the print preview feature is disabled by default for the 82,83 & 84 releases.
  • This may be fixed by Bug 1669732
  • For further information please observe the attached screencast.
  • [Suggested Severity] I think that S4 fits for this issue.
