https://github.com/w3c/ServiceWorker/issues/947 covers discussion of whether EventSource should be exposed on ServiceWorkers or not. The conclusion made by :annevk in https://github.com/w3c/ServiceWorker/issues/947#issuecomment-411341963 was that it had been exposed for long enough to the web that we should expose it on ServiceWorkers.
Note that this doesn't mean it gets to be a functional event.
