Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox
  2. Access for example Facebook page and close it back for ~5 times
  3. Restart Firefox and access Facebook again

Expected result

  • A CFR recommendation for Facebook add-on is shown in the address bar

Actual result

  • No CFR recommendation is shown

  • Will see for a regression

  • Youtube and Google Translate pages are affected as well

Bug 1654258 changed the URL of the CFR icons for 82+. We could not update the URL in our messages from Remote Settings because it would break release (<=81) and we could not add separate messages for 82+ because we couldn't filter out users that already interacted with the CFR messages.
Solution is to currently wait for the code to ride the trains and make the switch once it gets to the release population.

As routine beta-validation; appears that the issue still manifests with 83.0b4(macOS 10.15, Windows 7).
With 82.0 the desired addon appears.

Towards the second half of the day, this issue appears to have been solved.
Have re-confirmed with the mentioned build/platforms so will revert the bug to the resolved status and clear the needinfo.
