  • macOS 10.14

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Access any random webpage.
  3. Click the address bar.
  4. While the address bar is open click the “Page actions” button.
  5. Click the “Take a screenshot” option.
  6. Press ESC in order to cancel the screenshots overlay.

Expected result

  • The screenshot overlay is dismissed.

Actual result

  • The screenshot overlay is not dismissed because the focus remains on the address bar.

Regression Window

  • This doesn’t seems to be a regression but will investigate this as soon as time permits.

Additional Information

  • For further information regarding this issue please observe the attached screencast.
  • [Suggested Severity] S3
Has Regression Range: --- → no
Has STR: --- → yes

Confirmed. Yeah it seems like we should be moving focus to something in the screenshots overlay. At that point, ESC would do the expected thing.

Severity: -- → S4
Priority: -- → P3

Bug 1799211 should fix the issue of moving focus when we open the Screenshots UI. Which would in turn mean that the ESC key should correctly and reliably dismiss the overlay.
