Steps to reproduce
Following setup:
- "extensions.formautofill.available" change it from "detect" to "on"
- "browser.search.region" change to "US"
- in about:preferences#privacy click on Saved Addresses and add at least 1 new address;
Steps:
(A)
- Launch Firefox and access this link;
- Double click on any field and select any dataset from the list;
- Change the value for any auto-filled section;
- Click on the Submit button from the webpage;
(B)
- same issue for filling in the form and pressing the submit button;
Expected result
- pop-up notifying of changes to data displayed;
Actual result
- pop-up not displayed;
Regression range
- First bad: 2020-07-22;
- Last good: 2020-07-21;
- Pushlog: URL;
- Potential regressor: mozregression points towards bug 1648064 but that shouldn't be it;
Additional notes
- attached recording with the issue;
- S2 as suggested severity since we're looking at lack of functionality but in a not-so-often used area.

Yeah, we did this on purpose to address a long standing address duplication problem. You can reenable if you rely on it through prefs.
We do not have an owner for form autofill right now, trying to sort that out in the next few weeks. Hopefully after we get that done someone will take over triage the component. In the mean time I'm trying to keep an eye on incoming bugs for issues that are critical.
