Affected versions

  • 78.0esr, 78.0, 79.0a1 (2020-06-25);

Affected platforms

  • macOS 10.15.5

Steps to reproduce

  • macOS and Firefox themes are set to Dark
  1. Launch Firefox and install "Tumblr Post" (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tumblr-post/)
  2. Access about:addons
  3. Access the Preferences page for the addon;
  4. In the sub-panels click to open the [Published] dropdowns;

Expected result

  • dropdown menu options are readable;

Actual result

  • dropdown menu and text is black until hovering over;

Regression range

  • not a regression;
  • builds prior to 68.0a1 do not allow install of the addon, so can't get a proper check on builds before it;
  • as it stands, suspecting it as either on the publisher's side or something overlooked when the current Dark Theme was implemented;

Additional notes

  • attached recording with the issue;
  • as a check, issue does not reproduce on Windows 10/Ubuntu;
  • since it's somewhat of an edge case and might be limited to the addon css-setup suggested severity for this is S4.

To investigate.

Confirmed on Windows 10 as well with a dark theme. On top of that, positioning for the popup seems to be off, which probably means we're not setting some browser element attributes correctly.

Hi Alex, could you re-verify this to double-check if it is still happening?
if it is not reproducible anymore, could you run mozregression to find the bug that fixed it?

Thanks!

Clear a needinfo that is pending on an inactive user.

Inactive users most likely will not respond; if the missing information is essential and cannot be collected another way, the bug maybe should be closed as INCOMPLETE.
