Possible regressor: Bug 1625314

Notes

  • Attached a screen recording.
  • The issue can be reproduced as well by opening Firefox with a new profile and going to about:preferences from the hamburger menu.
  • The issue can be reproduced with Windows Light theme too but is more visible with Dark theme enabled (Setting -> Personalization-> Colors -> Dark).
Has Regression Range: --- → yes
Has STR: --- → yes

After further, investigation it seems that macOS 10.15 is also affected while having dark theme activated.

Some ideas from Emilio:

  • well, you can use <link rel="alternate stylesheet"> on the <head>, or <link rel="preload"> when enabled, or such
  • or DIY with constructable stylesheets
  • (the later are not enabled by default yet, but could be enabled for chrome docs if needed I guess)
  • ah, I guess alternates don't quite work as they don't block layout, hmm...

Because this bug's Severity has not been changed from the default since it was filed, and it's Priority is P3 (Backlog,) indicating it has been triaged, the bug's Severity is being updated to S3 (normal.)

Severity: normal → S3
