Affected versions
- 75.0a1 (2020-02-19)
- 74.0b5
- 73.0.1
Affected platforms
- Windows 10x64
- macOS 10.13
- Ubuntu 18.04x64
Steps to reproduce
- Launch Firefox.
- Go to https://eoimages.gsfc.nasa.gov/images/imagerecords/73000/73751/world.topo.bathy.200407.3x21600x10800.png and wait for the page to load.
Expected result
- The PNG large image is fully loaded.
Actual result
- Just 60% of the image is loaded and the rest of 40% becomes whited and console message error is received.
Regression range
- This issue is not a recent regression since I was able to reproduce it on Firefox 73.0.1. I’ll come with a regression range asap.
Additional notes
- I’ll attach a screenshot with the console error.
- I’ve reproduce this issue on several machines with different GPUs:
- Ubuntu 18.04x64 - NVA8
- Windows 10x64 - Intel HD graphics 530
- Windows 10x64 - nVidia GeForce GT 620
- macOS 10.13 - AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB
- On Chrome the image loading time is also very big but in the end it’s fully loaded.

Hello,
I’ve tried to look for a regression range, but on builds from 2013 the page isn’t loaded and on all the builds up to 2013 that loaded the page I’ve reproduced this issue.
Doing so, I don’t think this issue is a regression or if it is, is an old one.
