Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Firefox Browser and navigate to any site.
  2. Right-click on the tab and select "Bookmark Tab".

Actual result

  • The preview for the site is not displayed.

Regression range

  • If this is a regression I will try to find it asap

Additional notes

  • This is more for symmetry reasons. The issue is more noticeable on macOS, because the bookmark prompt appears more like a slide down then a pop-up.

This is not a regression.
The "Bookmark tab" in tab context menu is implemented by Bug 1480529.
Before Bug 1480529: no "Bookmark tab" in tab context menu.
After Bug 1480529: "Bookmark tab" in tab context menu pops up "New Bookmark" dialog instead of "New Bookmark" arrow panel.

We could probably check if the user is bookmarking the CURRENT tab, and show the star panel in that case. We default to showing the generic add bookmark dialog because you can right click on a not focused tab to add it to bookmarks, and in that case we couldn't use the star panel.

Priority: -- → P5
Has Regression Range: --- → no

As has already been mentioned, this isn't a regression.
