Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Firefox and open a new window.
  2. Go to about:addons and add a random extension from Recommended Extensions.
  3. Observe the hamburger menu from the first window as long as the Manage your addons dropdown menu is active.

Expected result

  • No visual glitches presented on the first Window.

Actual result

  • Black (or white depending on the theme) square appears on the hamburger menu as long as a drop-down is active on the second one.

Regression Range

  • Reproducible with Firefox 71.0a1 (20191009213914). I will search for one ASAP.

  • Attached a screen recording with the issue.
  • The issue is reproducible on the first window as long as a dropdown from the hamburger menu is presented on the second one.

Hm, maybe, or maybe our front-end isn't badging that other window properly. Going to needinfo mixedpuppy to see what he thinks.

We have a slew of issues with appMenu stuff and have a project to rework the install flow panels, bug 1568635. That particular visual effect is part of appMenu code, not specifically an extension issue.

This is actually not a regression, at least not from that bug. This is a problem generally in appMenu, and probably always existed.
