Preconditions
- An admin account is already set on your computer.
- A child account is already set on your computer.
- From the Child account open Firefox, go to about:config and create the “security.family_safety.mode" pref (integer) and set it's value to 2.
Affected versions
- Fx71.0b10
Affected platforms
- Windows 10
Steps to reproduce
- Open the Admin (parent) account.
- Navigate to https://account.microsoft.com/family/ -> More Options -> Content Restrictions.
- Turn on 'Block inappropriate apps, games & media'.
- Remove Firefox from the 'Always blocked' list.
- Turn on 'Block inappropriate websites' and add a few websites to the blocked list (e.g. 9gag.com, twitter.com, facebook.com)
- Log off the Admin account and log in with the child account.
- Open Firefox and navigated to a blocked website.
Expected result
- The website appears as blocked.
Actual result
- The websites are loaded without any issues.
Regression range
- This doesn't look like a Firefox regression, but will try to provide one if needed.
Additional notes
- There's an interesting pop-up received (see screenshot) when removing Firefox from the blocked list. Does this mean that the website block does not work for Firefox (compatibility issue with windows parental blocking?)?
Similar to bug 1597230, security.family_safety.mode
would not affect this behavior.

Yeah, that message looks a lot like Firefox isn't supposed to work there.
