Preconditions
- An admin account is already set on your computer;
- A child account is already set on your computer.
- From the Child account open Firefox, go to about:config and create the “security.family_safety.mode" pref (integer) and set it's value to 2.
Note: - This test can be run ONLY WHEN the child's account is linked to the parent's Microsoft Account.
- Firefox needs to be previously blocked.
Affected versions
- Fx 71.0b10
Affected platforms
- Windows 10
Steps to reproduce
- Log in as an ADMIN(parent) in windows.
- Navigate to https://account.microsoft.com/family/ -> More Options -> Content Restrictions.
- Click the 'Show More' link and the 'Remove' button for Firefox.
- Refresh the page.
Expected result
- Firefox is displayed either in the 'Always allowed' section or in the 'Always blocked' section with the 'undo' option near it.
Actual result
- Firefox can't be added to the blocked section again.
Regression range
- Will investigate further, but this does not look like a Firefox regression.
Additional notes
- This looks more like a web - app related issue that a Firefox issue.
For what it's worth, the security.family_safety.mode
pref would not affect this behavior. That pref is only used to determine if Firefox should try to detect if the family safety feature will intercept TLS connections (and if so, enable the enterprise roots feature).
