Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox, TAP to open the 3line/Hamburger menu;
  2. Open the What's new menu(s) using touch;
  3. Press anywhere over the dropdown menu;
  4. Hold the finger on the menu and swipe between the 3 options for (release notes, lockwise, protections);
  5. While the finger is over any of the 3 options, lift if from over the screen;

Expected result

  • nothing, since the action would be to swipe/hover;

Actual result

  • any of the 3 "options" is open in a new tab;
  • the menu remains open still;

Regression range

  • will provide one asap;
  • on initial investigation, 70.0 appears to be unaffected;

I have tested this on a Windows laptop with touchscreen:
The menu closes correctly when pressing any of the messages.
All of our messages are also click targets to enable easier navigation with keyboard or mouse.
