Affected versions

  • Firefox 71.0a1

Affected platforms

  • Windows 10 x64
  • Ubuntu 18.04 x64
  • macOS 10.14

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start Firefox with a clean profile.
  2. Drag and drop this site in 4 different tabs.

Expected result

  • The doorhanger is triggered.

Actual result

  • The doorhanger is not triggered.

Regression range

  • This is not a regression. I can reproduce the issue on Nightly from 2019-09-11 when the feature was implemented.

Additional notes

  • In order to make the doorhanger appear, you have to refresh the page. Some times is enough just to go to another site and then back on the test page. Otherwise the doorhanger is not triggered, no matter how many times you open the test page.

There's no gProtectionsHandler.onContentBlockingEvent triggered during those same-url-page tab-switching.
That's why is shows after you switch to another site and back.

I would say this is low priority and we could probably close it as WONTFIX.
Any thoughts?

Oh, yeah, because it's not the selected browser when you drag it and open it in the background. I agree, WONTFIX.
