- Firefox 68.1.0esr
Affected platforms
- aarch Windows 10
Steps to reproduce
- Login to Netflix with a valid account.
- Access this link.
- Wait for the intro part until the user selections appear on screen and select one of choice.
Expected result
- The movie continues with the selection made by the user.
Actual result
- The video frame freezes until the default autoselection happens.
Regression range
- I will search for a regression asap.
Additional notes
- Here is an attachment with the actual issue.
- Widevine plugin will crash if accessing the movie link on Firefox Nightly 79.0a1 (2019-09-17).
- Black Mirror : Bandersnatch seems to be affected too, as by making a selection, the next frames from the movie will be repeating over and over.
- The system is a Lenovo Yoga.

Could you try testing with the GMP sandbox disabled and seeing if that has any impact?
The steps can be found here -- essentially set the environment variable MOZ_DISABLE_GMP_SANDBOX=1 before starting Firefox and then testing.

Bugbug thinks this bug is a regression, but please revert this change in case of error.

Ok Bryce, I tried reproducing it on Firefox 71.0b6 and it seems that the issue is not happening anymore. In the other hand, the nightly build keeps crashing the Widevine plugin if trying to open the link. Any idea? Sorry for the late response too.

That crash sounds like bug 1580742, once that's fixed we should retest here.

Too late for a fix in 70 but we could still take a patch for 72.

Yeah, did a check on Netflix and Amazon Prime on latest Nightly (2019-11-19) and the playback had no issues. Thanks!

Verified on 71.0b11 and 68.0.2esr and it seems that the issue is no longer present. Selections work as they should.
