Affected versions

  • Firefox 68.0.1
  • Firefox 69.0b13
  • Latest Nightly 70.0a1
  • Firefox 47.0a1

Affected platforms

  • macOS 10.13.6
  • Ubuntu 18.04 64bit
  • Windows 7 64bit

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start Firefox
  2. Open bookmarks sidebar (CMD+B/CTRL+B)
  3. Have multiple bookmarks in multiple folders
  4. Drag a bookmark from a folder to another

Expected result

  • The focus remains on the bookmark that was moved

Actual result

  • After the selected item was moved, the focus remains on one of the remaining bookmarks from the parent folder, or the folder itself if there are no more bookmarks.

Regression range

  • Did a quick check after a regression but even Firefox 4.0 has this behavior so it's safe not to call this a regression.

Additional notes

  • Not sure if this is the intended behavior but since I also saw this in older builds I think this is what the expected behavior is. I do think we should keep the focus on the target bookmark and its new location after moving (same as we do when changing its order in the same folder).
