Affected versions
- 69.0b4, 70.0a1 (2019-07-15) (64-bit)
Affected platforms
- Windows 10, macOS 10.13
Steps to reproduce
- Complete version:
- Launch Firefox and access about:addons
- Install any addons (ex: Facebook Container );
- Access about:profiles and open the Roaming file for the active profile;
- Select the extensions folder and try to Delete the xpi/extension/addon (you shouldn't be able to);
- From about:addons disable the addon;
- Reattempt to delete the xpi/extension/addon from the explorer (you are allowed);
- Click on the Extensions tab;
- Select the addon and Enable it.
- Short version:
- install an addon;
- disable the addon;
- delete the addon from the installed location;
- try to enable the addon back;
Expected result
- addon remains inactive/disabled in the section;
Actual result
- addon is marked as active/enabled in the about:addons section;
Regression range
- with a legacy addon the about:debugging page could be accessed from certain builds;
- @55.0b1 had this page implemented and the issue was manifesting;
Additional notes
- attached recording with the issue;
- even if the addon is not marked as removed after deletion, the page/section refresh should indicate deletion action;
- observed with atrif/mcotetiu while checking the OS/browser permission setup;
