Steps to reproduce

  1. Start Firefox
  2. Enable the search bar from about:preferences#search
  3. Write something in the search bar
  4. Open Customize
  5. Exit Customize

Expected result

  • The string that was written in the search bar is saved.

Actual result

  • The string that was written in the search bar is deleted.

Regression range

  • Not sure if this is a regression, Fx 56.0 is also affected. I will investigate further asap.

Additional notes

  • Not sure if this is by design or not, further input from Engineering is required in order to sort this thing up.
