Details

(Keywords: regression, regressionwindow-wanted)

Affected versions

  • 66.0, 67.0a1 (2019-03-11)

Affected platforms

  • Ubuntu 16.04, macOS 10.12, Windows 10;

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox;
  2. From about:newtab open at least 1-2 tabs via CTRL+Click;
  3. Access the last tab, type about:crashparent and press Enter (this done in under 5seconds);
  4. Click OK, restore session.

Expected result

  • All the tabs are re-open;

Actual result

  • The final tab is not open.

Regression range

  • will provide one asap;

Additional notes

  • recording with the issue: link
  • even if the page is not fully loaded it would make sense that after the restart the link to still be there
Has Regression Range: --- → no

This would happen when sessionstore hasn't had a change to flush the latest changes to disk, thus the state being incomplete when restarted. Not sure how to fix that - there's always going to be a window of time between opening the last tab, flushing to disk and a crash.
So I think this bug may end up being a WONTFIX.

Priority: -- → P4

As per the discussion with Mike on Slack, marking this bug as WONTFIX; it is a really edge-case scenario to begin with.
