Affected versions

  • Firefox 67.0a1
  • Firefox 66.0b11
  • Firefox 65.0.1

Affected platforms

  • Windows 10 x64
  • Windows 7 x64
  • Ubuntu 18.04 x64
  • macOS 10.14

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to https://play.hbonow.com/ or https://play.hbogo.com/
  2. Play one of the videos (make sure that there are a few extra videos on the list that's displayed below the player) and enter fullscreen.
  3. Click on the seek bar.

Expected result

  • The video keeps playing from the point you selected on the seek bar.

Actual result

  • The video is not in fullscreen anymore and another video starts playing.

Regression range

  • First bad: 2018-11-18
  • Last good:2018-11-17
  • Potentially regressed by: 1468517 - Make toolbar_bottom_separator color apply to findbar top border.

Additional notes

  • This happens because somehow even if you click on the seek bar, the click is performed on the videos that are in the extra list.
  • macOS 10.13 doesn't seem to be affected by this issue.

I don’t see how bug 1468517 could have affected this.

I did more research on the issue on Windows 10 and Ubuntu and I found two different results.
First of all on Windows I can't reproduce the issue on builds older than 2018-11-17. But what is really strange is that today when I tried to run the regression again I got different regression ranges every time (3 different regression ranges). Also if I run the regression only between the two dates from comment 0, I get these results:

On the other hand when I ran the regression on Ubuntu I could reproduce the issue on builds from 2018-04-02. In the builds from March 2018, I can't seem to make the video play. It keeps giving me the error that the video is not available at the moment.

So I am not sure if this is a regression anymore. Or maybe the fact that I am using a VPN might cause these results, but I am not sure why that could be a factor.

I don’t see how bug 1468517 could have affected this.

The findbar is at the bottom edge of the screen where the issue is so it seems like it could be relevant.

Maybe the regression range depends on whether the find bar was opened/created in that window before?

Maybe the web compat team can investigate this.

Tom, you just investigated some fullscreen shenanigans, can you take a look? PM me for test credentials.

Oana, does this still reproduce?

Flags: needinfo?(oana.botisan)

I can still reproduce it using the latest Nightly 68.0a1 on Windows 10 x64.

See bug 1547409. Moving webcompat whiteboard tags to keywords.

this can't be tested from Japan.

HBO NOW is only supported in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories.

Probably this is not working for ksenia either?

This issue can no longer be reproduced on Nightly v66.0a1, v67.0a1 ort the latest v89.0a1 on different Windows 10 machines.
I hope I did the steps correctly. Alternatively, it may have been fixed on HBO side.

Oana can you still reproduce this?

Flags: needinfo?(oana.botisan)

I can't seem to be able to reproduce this issue because they change the site's interface. There are no videos displayed beneath the player anymore. So I think that this issue is now ivalid.
