Details
[Affected versions]: Firefox 65.0a1 Firefox 64.0b5 Firefox 63.0.1 Firefox 60.3.0esr [Affected platforms]: Windows 10 64bit. [Preconditions]: Enable the "AppUpdateURL" policy via GPO and assign it the following URL: https://www.example.com/ [Steps to reproduce]: 1. Launch Firefox. 2. Access the about:policies page. [Expected result]: 1: The policy is enabled (enabled via HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE) 2: An appropriate error message is displayed inside the about:policies#errors page (enabled via HKEY_CURRENT_USER)- since this is a computer level only policy. [Actual result]: 1 and 2:The "Unknown policy: URL" error is displayed inside the about:policies#errors page. [Note] It seems that the valueName should be "AppUpdateURL" and not just "URL" -> https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/windows/firefox.admx#L2181 (Thanks Felipe for pointing this out).

(I marked the versions as unaffected because this problem is external to Firefox, just in the GPO templates that we publish for download)

This is fixed in an update to the GPO (no code change in Firefox). https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/commit/b1d884b5ef48b96f8f850cb6ec55d916c1d6cfe1
