[Affected versions]: - 63.0 (20181018182531) - 64.0b4 (20181025233934) - 65.0a1 (20181029100347) [Affected platforms]: - Windows 10 x64 - Ubuntu 18.04 x64 - macOS 10.13 [Steps to reproduce]: 1. Go to https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/thank-you?country=EU&version=16.04.2&architecture=amd64 and accept to download the file 2 Observe how the download icon is changing it's color according to the downloading progress 3. Right-click on the download icon and choose the Pin to Overflow Menu option 4. Enter the Overflow Menu and observe the download icon [Expected result]: - The user should be able to still see the downloading progress, without taking another action. [Actual result]: - There is no color changing or notification, user can’t tell if any download is in progress. [Regression range]: - This behavior is not a regression.

Due to the complexities of the overflow panel this becomes very hard to implement as you have requested. Clicking on the "Downloads" item within the overflow menu actually closes the overflow panel and opens the downloads panel since the downloads panel is so complicated already.
