1. Open about:newtab
2. Reduce the width of the browser to the minimum

- Customize your New Tab page icon doesn’t overlap the search bar

A lot of things in Firefox don't even work at that width, but in activity stream, at least all 3 of the gear, search box, search arrow are clickable. The page is designed to scale down to 2 columns of top sites although it looks like mac firefox has some larger minimum width than linux (and window)?
