[Affected versions]:
- Firefox 61.0b6;
- Firefox 62.0a1 (2018-05-20)

[Affected platforms]:
- Windows 10x64;
- macOS 10.13.6;
- Ubuntu 16.04LTS

[Steps to reproduce]:
1. Launch Firefox;
2. Open a new tab;
3. Hover over the top sites section, click on the Edit button;
4. Click on the Add button;
5. In the second field(URL) add: paginiaurii.ro/ 
6. Click on the Add button;
7. Click on the Done button;
8. Click on the newly added top site;
9. Wait until the favicon is loaded and displayed, then click on the new tab button.

[Expected result]:
- The newly added top site has the thumbnail displayed in the bottom-right corner;

[Actual result]:
- The thumbnail is missing, the default one is displayed.

[Regression range]:
- not a regression;
- Reproducible on the first version that I've found using the thumbnails for favicons 58.0a1 (2017-10-04).

[Additional notes]:
- The proper favicon is displayed only after adding the www. ; after doing this the screenshot is reset to default;

- Attached a screen-cast with the issue;
- In newer Firefox versions it is enough to hover over the new top site to edit it;

Screen shotting is an asynchronous, background process.  This is working as intended.  We'd love to make it work smoother/better, but due to constraints around real-world web site latency and the inherently expensive nature of grabbing screenshots, this is as good as it gets :-)
