[Note]: - [Affected versions]: - Firefox 59.0.2 - Firefox Beta 60.0b8 - Firefox Nightly 61.0a1 [Affected platforms]: - Ubuntu 14.04 x64 - macOS 10.12.6 - Windows 10 x64 [Steps to reproduce]: 1. Open Firefox 2. Go to www.appear.in and enter a room. 3. Allow appear.in to use your camera and mic. (You need to use an external webcam which has a mic and select that one for both camera and mic in the dropdown) 4. Unplug your camera after you are connected to a room. 5. Go to Cam/Mic 6. Open the dropdown menu for either the camera or the microphone. [Expected result]: - The dropdown menus are populated with other cameras and microphones that can be used. [Actual result]: - The dropdown menu looks as if it contains entries but only blank fields are displayed. [Regression range]: - This issue goes back to before the Quantum "era" so it may not be a regression. Will investigate ASAP. [Additional notes]: - This issue is reproducible ONLY when BOTH the camera and microphone from the same device are selected in the "Allow" pop-up from the beginning of a video conference on appear.in

Hmmm I am not able to repro this one. I am on Linux. After unplug I open the Cam/Mic settings and I see the built-in camera and microphone. Are you sure the external device is not the only device in your system?

On Linux it may have been only 1 cam but we've also reproduced it on a MacBook and that surely had 2 cams (FaceTime Cam + Microsoft HD 3000 Lifecam). Also...the mic has to be from that external cam. So, when the "Allow" doorhanger pops-up you should select your USB webcam on both the video and sound.
