User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0 Build ID: 20161208153507 Steps to reproduce: Hello, I have updated my mozilla firefox into version 50.1.0 direct to version 52 due version 51 appeared high RAM Memory usage. Actual results: After this update firefox appeared again high RAM memory leakage about 5-6GB of RAM after few hour. As it seems the previous bug from version 51 is not fixed but it transferred to version 52. This incident makes to downgrade my version 52 back to version 50.1.0. My OS is windows 10 pro x64 Bits. Expected results: Mozilla must take care about this issue and fix this bug such the users are obligated to donwgrade into previous versions. This solution is temporary such the security levels of firefox are reducing and making the users to remain under security risks.

Can you please save a memory report for version 52 when you are experiencing high memory usage? It will not be possible to diagnose your particular memory issue without this. Also, it would be good to know what addons you have. It is likely some combination of a website or addon that is causing your issue.

I can't uninstall and reinstall mozilla firefox every time. Please revise firefox source code. Versions 51 & 52 are appearing this issue probably the problem is related with new SSL functions updates. My active addons are: 1. Addblock plus. 2. Disable anti-adblock. 3. Forumotion backup templates. 4. GreaseMonkey. 5. Kaspersky Protection. 6. Web Developer.

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 I have tested this issue on Windows 10 x64 with the latest Firefox release (52.0.1), Firefox release (52.0) and the latest Nightly (55.0a1-20170319030203) and haven't managed to reproduce it. After installing all the specified addons mentioned in comment 6 and runnig firefox for a couple of hours, the RAM usage was normal, about 400-600 MB RAM. I think that if you could provide a performance report as mentioned by Andrew in comment 5, can help us see what is causing this issue. Hello, There are no critical improvements such memory leakage is remaining. I was downgraded again back to firefox version 50.1.0. Firefox version 52.0.1 also delays extremely to release memory after closing firefox. I was tested firefox about 4-5 days ago without switching off my computer.

Those orphan-node numbers are extremely high. That's about a third of your total memory usage. 148.59 MB (07.71%) ── orphan-nodes When I opened the forumgreek site, the total site is about 15mb for me, which more or less matches up with your, except for the orphan-nodes. The dom/non-window-global?!/orphan-nodes entry is also something I haven't seen before. For future reference, you can save the about:memory report to a file and upload that instead of pasting it in. That makes it easier to read through the bug. So, there must be some addon that you are using that is causing all of these orphan-nodes. In comment 7, Emil was unable to reproduce this issue, so maybe you have some Greasemonkey script that is causing issues? Another possibility is that the "Forumotion backup templates" addon is causing large memory usage, but only on forum websites. Forums are showing up as high memory usage in your about:memory report.

What user scripts do you have installed in Grease Monkey? Did you try to disable Grease Monkey, restart the browser, and see if you still have the issue? More generally, you should disable all your extensions, restart the browser, and see if you can reproduce the issue. If not, then you need to enable each extension one by one, restart the browser after enabling one extension, and see if when the memory usage issue appears. That is the fastest way to narrow down the issue -- really this should already have been done by now. When you quit the browser, be sure that it no longer is in memory before restarting it. There is definitely something specific on your side causing this, add-ons are the first thing to look at.

Hello, Now I have disabled grease monkey (and its addons scripts) and other addons and I left active adblock plus & Kaspersky Internet Security Extensions. The RAM is still leaking second by second. Furthermore appeared a second firefox procedure in task. When I tried to disabled one of two automatically firefox closed.

Can you try without Kaspersky Internet Security Extensions? I have tried with the extensions listed in comment 6, and so far I haven't observed memory leaks commensurate with your about:memory results. I can't test with Kaspersky Internet Security Extensions however.

Looks like the bug here should be a duplicate of bug 1337204. From what I've read, disabling Kapersky in add-on manager is not sufficient, the Kapersky extension will re-enable/re-install itself after launching Firefox. It needs to be disabled from the Kapersky application itself, see https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/4v94ni/memory_leak_possibly_related_to_kaspersky/d5xgf33/#.

Nothing changed after disabling Kaspersky Internet Security except my web protection level reduced to zero.:( and the RAM memory continues leaking. Furthermore firefox is the slowest web browser against I.E, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge. Can you revise please all of your firefox's source codes and improve it? Each time we are uninstalling the latest version and downgrading to previous firefox versions which are more constanly. These issues were tired us too much.

If you claim that there is still a memory issue after disabling all add-ons, provide a memory report for such scenario like you did above. I haven't been able to reproduce this in a clean profile with no addons. Maybe the addons are at fault, or maybe you have to be logged into the forums for it to trigger.

I see very similar behavior running builds on Jenkins, though a single pipeline build page will grow to upwards of 2Gb, with over 1.6Gb in orphaned nodes. Leaving the tab up overnight, "Web Content" will grow to about 20Gb as seen in top, though this may be due to leaving several tabs open. To reproduce, I just open a pipeline build that is running, refresh a couple of times, and then wait. It grows very quickly.
This may be related to a jenkins issue: https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-47009 but thought I'd post here becuase of the growth in orphan-nodes.
