[Affected versions]:
- All.

[Affected platforms]:
- Windows
- Linux
- Mac

[Steps to reproduce]:
1. Launch https://twitter.com/ weblink
2. Create multiple login credentials and save them from the Password Manager door hanger
3. Re access the login page
4. Select an username from the drop down list
5. Observe that after selecting an username from the drop down list, another username cannot be selected by clicking on the username field

[Expected result]:
If the user has accidentally selected an username from the drop down list, he is able to re select another saved username from the drop down list.

[Actual result]:
If the user has accidentally selected an username from the drop down list, he is able to select another saved username from the drop down list only after manually clearing the username field.

[Additional information]:
In my opinion, as a Firefox end-user, I believe that the option of re choosing another username from the drop down list without manually clearing the username field would be more efficient, providing the end user with more speed in performing the day to day tasks.

I believe that after choosing a wrong username from the drop down list, the drop down list containing all of the usernames saved for that particular login page, would be more efficient, if they would reappear after the user clicks on the username field again, giving him the possibility to choose another username. Of course, if the user decides to change the username, the password filed will be automatically updated to match the re selected username.

In order to avoid the cases in which the user accidentally clicks the username field (without having the intention to change the selected username), the user will be able to dismiss the drop down by clicking the initially selected username or by clicking anywhere outside the drop down menu.

I do believe that, in order to provide more speed for the end-user and to avoid small confusions when re clicking on the username field, the selected username would be discretely highlighted for the user to enhance his search through the saved credentials from the drop down list.
The initial report describes a scenario where the user accidentally selects the wrong account. This bug goes beyond that. Many websites remember the most recently used account and pre-fill the username automatically. This is enough to trigger the bug. You can invoke the dropdown, but the prefilled account is the only one shown there.

This means the user never even gets a chance to see the list of available logins unless they manually clear the username field. It's a major regression as far as the password manager goes; "enhancement" is definitely not the right classification.
