User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:51.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/51.0 Build ID: 20170125094131 Steps to reproduce: I tried to cleanup my RAM memory with some system tools but this issue return back and I am obligated to close and open my browser again and again without result. Actual results: Mozilla Firefox version 51.0.1 uses too much RAM memory and sometimes is lagging and freezing. I am using many tabs to work with my Mozilla Firefox version 51.0.1 for windows 64-Bits version. After few hour firefox is overloading my RAM memory for unexpected reasons. I need to have many tabs to work but I have 8GB RAM and mozilla eats at least 3-4GB of my RAM. Expected results: Mozilla firefox must use to less RAM Memory and I believe there is a bug in memory and resources management of this version and it needs debugging and release new version.

I tried to collect memory measurements but mozilla firefox freezed I terminated it with windows task manager. I will try to collect memory usage when it is overloaded.

Can you upload the full memory report? cc-edges is something different from the memory report. You can save it as a file instead of cutting and pasting (anonymize to prevent urls and such from showing up).

Yes, thank you. It looks like every page you have open from many different domains that don't seem related seem to have a lot of orphan nodes. This makes me suspect an add-on because we haven't had reports of this in Firefox without add-ons. What addons do you have enabled? Can you try disabled them to see if the problem goes away?

Most likely the problem lies with either the page that has the orphan nodes, or one of your add-ons. Can you try disabling your add-ons and see if you still get the orphan nodes?

Report to the website that they keep around a lot of orphan DOM nodes (nodes that are not in the document). Their page might be leaking DOM nodes.

Hello, I have reported to them this issue also when mozilla freezing due this issue and sometimes I terminate it with windows task manager. When I re-open firefox, it looses the opened tabs and crash reporter seems dont sends crash reports to mozilla support. The crash reports are stored on local firefox's reports folder. At the past when firefox was crashed on re-opening it starts work the firefox's crash reporter now with this version that is not happening. Is there way to clarify mozilla firefox to use specific RAM quantity? Is there a way to make crash reporter to work again?

You've tested those other browsers for this behaviour? Try creating a new profile and seeing if the orphan nodes still happen http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows

I couldn't reproduce the problem, it only happens for you, so we can't debug it without you trying different things. Did you try a fresh profile? And testing in different browsers?

Hello, Yes I have been resetted the firefox profiles, I have tested with Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Opera web browsers but it doesn't happened on the other browsers except mozilla firefox. Furthermore it doesn't happened only on my firefox, just take a look on other users reports here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1334367. It seems it is a global problem of firefox.

Hello, When I am closing mozilla firefox and after few seconds firefox releases at least 4-5GB of RAM memory. I believe that the problem is related with SSL protocol websites validation/confirmation (https) or something similar. Such mozilla didn't solved the RAM memory leakage/draining bug of Firefox, I was downgraded my mozilla firefox to version 50.1.0 and I was closed the updates until mozilla fix this bug. That solved the problem of memory leakage and now mozilla is working perfect. Pending the new version of mozilla firefox until new version will be released. I am remaining at version 50.1.0. As version 50.1.0 haven't this issue that means firefox latest version have the memory drain bug.

vbirloudis, it looks like you have the kaspersky add-on enabled. Can you try disabling that? I've seen this cause issues in the past. I can see from your memory report that it has injected many javascript compartments, for example:

Just to confirm, I am not using Kapersky either and I'm having the same problem. It is really noticeable with YouTube. I've been using the workaround of having "about:memory" open in a tab and manually triggering GC, CC and Minimise memory usage after each video. My plugins are: OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc. Primetime Content Decryption Module provided by Adobe Systems, Incorporated Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc. Extensions: Complete YouTube Save Download YouTube Videos as MP4 uBlock Origin Dictionaries: British English Dictionary (Marco Pinto)

Hello, I tried and disabled all of my addons without any success and the memory leaking is remaining. After all of my tests I was decided to downgrade to version 50.1.0 until version 52 will released to test the newest version of firefox but as watched time to time and version by version firefox becomes heavier and slower. Can you fix all of those bugs please? I believe that the most of firefox users are disappointed because any new version is more heavy than each previous version.

Hello, I have already tested version 52.0 and 52.0.1 but memmory leakage problem is still remaining. There are no critical improvements on this bug. I was tested with my computer and firefox opened for 4-5 days. Such there no solution found I was downgraded again back to version 50.1.0.
