Description: Performance when attempting to zoom in Camera Preview is poor on the Aries device. the Image will jump and shift, and does not actually zoom until more than a second after the user performs a pinch gesture, and appears non-responsive during this time. This issue does NOT occur in the Gallery app, where zooming performs well and remains responsive. Note: This issue appears to be Aries specific. Repro Steps: 1) Update a Aries to 20151216121527 2) Open the Camera App 3) Take several pictures 4) Open Camera Preview and attempt to zoom a picture just taken. Actual: Zooming performance in Camera Preview is low and unresponsive Expected: Zooming performance in Camera Preview is high, consistent, and remains responsive. Environmental Variables: Device: Aries 2.6 Build ID: 20151216121527 Gaia: a84c2dbe672583914d04380cd61a56f1c60c3b8e Gecko: 0babaa3edcf908c393b68a3dc2d1c2a2450c31ed Gonk: a19052e4389c3ae2d8fc3e7a74a475401baacc56 Version: 46.0a1 (2.6) Firmware Version: D5803_23.1.A.1.28_NCB.ftf User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:46.0) Gecko/46.0 Firefox/46.0 Repro frequency: 5/5 See attached: Video (URL), Logcat

This issue DOES occur on the latest Aries 2.5 Dogfood build. Zooming performance in Camera Preview is high, consistent, and remains responsive. Note: Performance does not seem quite as bad as on Aries 2.6. Environmental Variables: Device: Aries 2.5 BuildID: 20151216105523 Gaia: 062e0fa48c1b5d5156f6911a5a4519128fac3231 Gecko: ff08f85000b57964f04d4421c01784d22e0f6316 Gonk: a19052e4389c3ae2d8fc3e7a74a475401baacc56 Version: 44.0a2 (2.5) Firmware Version: D5803_23.1.A.1.28_NCB.ftf User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:44.0) Gecko/44.0 Firefox/44.0 ********************************************** This issue does NOT occur on the latest Flame 2.6 build. Zooming performance in Camera Preview is low and unresponsive Environmental Variables: Device: Flame 2.6 BuildID: 20151216030223 Gaia: a84c2dbe672583914d04380cd61a56f1c60c3b8e Gecko: 0babaa3edcf908c393b68a3dc2d1c2a2450c31ed Gonk: 205ac4204bbbb2098a8046444acba551ba5dc75a Version: 46.0a1 (2.6) Firmware Version: v18D User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:46.0) Gecko/46.0 Firefox/46.0

Thanks, actually, does it repro on 2.5 Flame as well? There are some Aries only multimedia issues that probably stems from porting issues.

This still happens on latest 2.6 Aries. During the initial zoom in, it stutters noticeably, and overall zoom in/out performance is quite low. It also appears that the image is shifting to upper right corner, as mentioned in bug 1225027 Version Info: Serial: YT910WV79J (State: device) Build ID 20160108142141 Gaia Revision 887a1d7f2ab601fc40b923b4e16e6b9b48fc982e Gaia Date 2016-01-08 06:35:05 Gecko Revision https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/3f780f4b14acab29b16bc4141a44180a8af9dd08 Gecko Version 46.0a1 Device Name aries Firmware(Release) 4.4.2 Firmware(Incremental) eng.worker.20160108.143841 Firmware Date Fri Jan 8 14:38:49 UTC 2016 Bootloader s1
