This issue only occurs when a the device has OTA'd from a previous build. If the user Full Flashes the latest build, the issue will not occur.

Talking with nhirata_ on irc, he indicated this appears to be a gonk issue, and would not occur after a FOTA rather than an OTA.

Below are the BT gonk hashes for the devices that have both been OTA'd and been Full Flashed:

Based on the information here, the gonk needs to be updated.
The latest build has the bluetooth gonk.

I'll have to find that bug and make sure it's in the FOTA build.

We'll also need to make a new contributor build for Flame that has the bluetooth and get that update to T2M.

Wesly, FYI. I don't have a build yet; just giving you a heads up.

Got it Naoki, thanks for the heads up.

Let me get T2M's support for storage then update MDN page, once the build is in place and get QA's bless.

Waiting for a more recent build that's dogfood unblocked.
This bug is probably related to bug 1170509 and 1141616. Recent versions of bluetoothd contain a workaround for a bug in the Bluetooth driver. If you don't have it, file transfers might not work.

Updating bluetoothd should fix this bug.

Bluetoothd is device-dependent, but should be fixable by an OTA.
Component: Gaia::Bluetooth → Bluetooth
Thomas, does this also account for preference changes? I believe that we had some issues when we did just a regular OTA, but not a gonk level update.

I guess it doesn't matter any ways, because Peter asked for a new base build.
We're also going to try to have T2M host the FOTA mar and update.zip
Depends on: 1217582

I don't know anything about changed preferences in Bluetooth, sorry.

Generally spoken, the preferences are set from a configuration file by the init system (or a related tool). So they wouldn't be updated by a mere OTA.

Can you elaborate your computer environment? Is it PC or MAC?
