[aries] SMS's don't arrive until initiating a phone call

>> Description of feature, or problem to be solved
1. When people send me SMS's, they do not appear on my phone.
2. When I answer a phone call, the undelivered SMS's arrive all at once.

This happens with both SMS and MMS messages from a variety of carriers. I've only noticed this over the past few days. The software on my phone has not changed in that timeframe.
When you say "do not appear", I understand that you have no notification. But do you know if they appear in the SMS application if you open it ? (I know it's not easy to see).

This is _really_ weird, I don't see how this could happen. Best would be to enable the RIL and MMS debugging in your developer menu, monitor your logs, and send a SMS to your phone from a separate phone + do this STR.

They do not. When making a call, the messages stream in and are all timestamped with the current time.

It seems that messages only appear on my phone when answering a call, not when making an outbound call.

Logcat attached, phone numbers replaced with XXXXXXXXXX.

During the call, I see a normal sms-received message:

    I/Gecko   (  317): -@- RILSystemMessenger: broadcastMessage: aType: sms-received, aMessage: {"iccId":"8901260223766444099","type":"sms","id":774,"threadId":20,"delivery":"received","deliveryStatus":"success","sender":"+1XXXXXXXXXX","receiver":"1XXXXXXXXXX","body":"Test","messageClass":"normal","timestamp":1440598758223,"sentTimestamp":1440598757000,"deliveryTimestamp":0,"read":false}

The timestamps in there suggest that the message was sent around 14:19 UTC from the perspective of my phone. It was actually sent at 14:07 UTC, from the perspective of the sender.

This is also being discussed on foxfooding-feedback at https://groups.google.com/a/mozilla.com/forum/#!topic/foxfood-feedback/Paif3tusPQ4

I moved my SIM (T-Mobile US) from my Aries device to a Nexus 5 running Android.

SMS's are also delayed on it.

Closing as invalid and complaining to my carrier. :(
