For clarification, both Adam and I are testing on Linux (Ubuntu 12.04)

This seems to be caused by a Gaia patch that landed in the last day. Bisecting it now.

Ok, I misunderstood. There's no regression here. We intentionally switched to MTP in bug 1171556. You have to install the Android File Transfer app to use MTP. [1] We opted to do this because internal storage isn't visible with the UMS option set on the Aries device. You can switch back to UMS and it should work. Flags: needinfo?(drs)
We are using MTP by default:http://www.wikiwand.com/en/Media_Transfer_Protocol For mac you would need to use "Android File Transfer" to use MTP If you are using linux you will need to add MTP support in order to see the device. For windows, you should have mtp by default for vista on. If for some reason you are on XP, you will need Windows Media Player 10.
