Hi Shu-yu,

I am going to assign this to you to keep track of the loan.

When you are finished with the loan forever, please comment stating so here in the bug, and mark the bug as RESOLVED.

By the way, now that this aws instance has been created, starting and stopping it can happen in a flash!
If you are not going to be using this machine for multiple hours, let us know in this bug and we can stop it.

Comment again when you want it started back up.
* For really fast turnaround, ping #releng (look for nick with 'buildduty')

Can I also get access to this machine? Debugging issue together with shu.

I've added your info to LDAP as well, and forwarded the original access mail that went to Shu.

A couple question:

1) Are these instances HVM or PV?
2) How are these imaged? Is it possible to get another loan with a newer kernel version (like Ubuntu 14.04 or something)? I suspect a possible kernel bug and would like to try to reproduce with a different kernel.

We create updated golden AMIs daily that bake-in changes from the previous day.

You're welcome to test on different image types or kernel versions, but releng only has Ubuntu 12.04 images available for the test pool. Due to the monolithic nature of the current CI solution (we need to support testing across Firefox, Fennec, Thunderbird, and FirefoxOS), and a general unwillingness for developers to help debug tests that break due to test platform changes, we don't rev the test platform version very often.

FWIW, releng is helping James Lal's team stand up a replacement CI solution called taskcluster, which should make test platform changes (at least in AWS), much easier.

At Shu's request, I'm setting up a basic Ubuntu 14.04 instance so we can test the kernel theory. I'll update here once the instance is ready.

I've sent email to Shu with the details.

Shu sent email saying I could terminate this instance, so I have.
I am done with this instance, which I think glandium bricked anyhow :P
