Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0
Build ID: 20141125180439

Steps to reproduce:

First in about:config all settings with "caret" are at default.
Press F7.
Message window opens.
Activate "Do not show me this dialog box again".
Press enter (= "No" button).

Same on Windows 7 and Ubuntu.

Actual results:

Caret browsing is still disabled. This is OK.
F7 does not show message window again. This is OK.
F7 does not work anymore to activate/deactivate caret browsing. -> Bug
accessibility.browsewithcaret_shortcut.enabled == false -> Bug IMHO

Expected results:

F7 should still work to activate and deactivate caret browsing.
But the message window should not open again.
No. This was changed in bug 454520 and was intentional. If you select 'no' *and* tick the box (which you manually have to do, so presumably you looked at the dialog you were accepting!), we assume you don't want the shortcut key. Most people who activate F7 don't. If you change your mind, you can change the pref in the preferences window or about:config.
